Keeping cold water on the jobsite sounds simple until somebody has to make the ice run.

You buy the ice, fill the cooler, lose a huge chunk of your usable space, and eventually end up with drinks floating around in melted water. Then somebody has to drain it, clean it, and do the same thing all over again the next morning.
Milwaukee is going after that entire routine with the new Milwaukee M18 30QT Rolling Fridge with PACKOUT Compatibility (0810-20).
Instead of relying on ice, this is a true powered fridge built for the jobsite. It runs on Milwaukee M18 batteries, can plug into AC power overnight, can run from DC vehicle power, reaches its set temperature in less than 20 minutes, and can cool all the way down to -4°F.
And because it doesn’t need ice, you actually get to use the inside of the fridge for the stuff you brought it for.
No Ice Means More Room for Drinks
One of Milwaukee’s biggest points with the M18 30QT Rolling Fridge is what it calls true capacity.
Think about a normal hard-sided cooler. Once you’ve dumped enough ice into it to keep everything cold all day, a big portion of the cooler isn’t holding drinks anymore. It’s holding ice.
Milwaukee’s internal product materials describe a traditional setup as roughly two-thirds ice and one-third beverages.
With the M18 Rolling Fridge, that ice isn’t required.
The 30-quart aluminum-lined tub can hold up to 48 cans or 30 water bottles, giving crews significantly more usable space for water, drinks, lunches, and anything else that needs to stay cold.
Milwaukee says its usable capacity is comparable to what you might get from a much larger 90-quart hard-sided cooler once the space normally needed for ice is taken into account.
That’s a pretty big difference for something that’s supposed to live in the truck or roll around the jobsite every day.
It Can Reach Temperature in Less Than 20 Minutes
This isn’t just an insulated cooler with a fan attached.
The Milwaukee M18 Rolling Fridge uses active cooling and can reach its selected temperature in less than 20 minutes.
It can also cool down to -4°F, giving you the option to use it as either a refrigerator or a freezer depending on what you’re carrying.
The temperature controls are another detail Milwaukee spent some time on.
Instead of measuring the temperature of the fridge walls, the system monitors the actual internal tub temperature. The goal is to give you a more accurate picture of how cold your drinks really are and help prevent situations where bottles freeze because the temperature reading doesn’t match what’s happening inside.
MAX Mode or ECO Mode
The M18 30QT Rolling Fridge has two cooling modes, and which one you choose comes down to whether you want tighter temperature control or longer runtime.
MAX Mode monitors the internal tub temperature more closely and runs the compressor more frequently to keep the fridge closer to your selected temperature.
ECO Mode allows the internal temperature to rise approximately three degrees before turning the compressor back on.

That means the compressor doesn’t have to run as often, which helps stretch the battery further.
If you see the green leaf icon on the display, you’re running in ECO Mode.
How Long Does the Milwaukee M18 Rolling Fridge Run?
Here’s where the M18 platform really comes into play.

The fridge has two M18 battery ports, but you only need one battery installed for it to operate.
With one M18 XC5.0 battery, Milwaukee lists:
Up to 9 hours in MAX Mode
Up to 10 hours in ECO Mode
Move up to two M18 HD12.0 batteries, and Milwaukee lists:
Up to 44 hours in MAX Mode
Up to 51 hours in ECO Mode
But the cooling doesn’t immediately disappear when the batteries are done.
Milwaukee says the insulated walls can maintain the internal tub temperature for up to an additional 22 hours without battery power.

When you combine active cooling with that additional retention time, Milwaukee lists total performance of up to 31 hours with an XC5.0 in MAX, 32 hours with an XC5.0 in ECO, 64 hours with two HD12.0 batteries in MAX, and up to 73 hours with two HD12.0 batteries in ECO.
That’s a lot different from tossing another bag of ice into a cooler halfway through the day.
Three Ways to Power It
You’re also not stuck using batteries every time you want the fridge running.

Milwaukee built what it calls a tri-power system into the M18 30QT Rolling Fridge.
You can power it with M18 batteries while you’re on the jobsite, DC vehicle power while you’re traveling, or AC power when you’re back at the shop, home, or anywhere else you’ve got access to an outlet.
That gives you quite a bit of flexibility.
You could potentially run it from AC power overnight, switch to vehicle power on the drive to the site, and then let an M18 battery take over once you’re working.
One important thing to know: the fridge does not charge M18 batteries.
AC and DC power will operate the fridge, but they won’t turn it into an M18 charger.
This One Is Actually Built Around PACKOUT
For Milwaukee users, this might be one of the biggest reasons the fridge stands out from other powered coolers.
The M18 30QT Rolling Fridge is PACKOUT compatible.
Milwaukee designed the top so compatible PACKOUT boxes, organizers, and other gear can be mounted directly onto the fridge.
So instead of having your PACKOUT stack in one hand and a completely separate cooler somewhere else, the fridge can become part of the same setup you’re already moving around the site.

The product also has anchor points and molded bungee cord points, giving you additional ways to secure equipment or other gear during transportation.
Milwaukee specifically designed it around easy transport on the jobsite and in work vehicles.
All-Terrain Wheels and a Retractable Handle
Once you fill a fridge with enough water for an entire crew, it gets heavy fast.
The M18 Rolling Fridge weighs approximately 50 pounds unloaded and around 75 pounds when fully loaded.
Thankfully, Milwaukee isn’t expecting you to carry it.

It rides on what the company calls its most durable wheels, designed to handle all-terrain jobsite conditions.
There’s also a large retractable handle for pulling it behind you and handle lock pins to keep everything secure.
The handle is designed for easier access without having to constantly bend down, which is another small detail that makes more sense once you’re moving this thing around multiple times a day.
Built for the Jobsite, Not the Campground
Milwaukee is very clearly positioning this as jobsite equipment rather than a recreational cooler that happens to take a power-tool battery.
The M18 30QT Rolling Fridge has an impact-resistant design, along with all-metal hardware and hinges.

It’s also rated IP54 for water and dust resistance, helping it handle the kind of dirt, dust, and weather exposure you expect around an active worksite.
The fridge is also designed to fit under tonneau covers, which should make it easier to transport in the bed of a work truck.
Aluminum-Lined Tub and Easier Cleanup
The inside of a regular cooler can get nasty pretty quickly.
Ice melts. Something leaks. Water sits inside longer than it should. Before long, you’re cleaning out a cooler that smells like it was forgotten in the truck for a week.
Milwaukee uses an aluminum-lined tub in the M18 Rolling Fridge, with the goal of avoiding the mold problems that can come with traditional coolers.
There’s also an external drain plug, so if something spills or you need to wash the tub out, you don’t have to flip the entire fridge upside down to empty it.
And yes, technically you can still put ice in it.
Milwaukee says adding ice can increase performance if you want to, but the whole point of the system is that ice isn’t required.
That means you don’t have to sacrifice your storage space just to keep everything cold.
TRUEVIEW Lighting Makes Its Way Into the Fridge
Milwaukee even brought its TRUEVIEW lighting into the fridge.
There’s a light inside the tub that helps illuminate everything when you open the lid.
It might not sound like the most important feature until you’re trying to find a specific drink in the back of a dark trailer at 6:00 in the morning.
It’s one of those little features that makes the whole thing feel more like jobsite equipment than a traditional cooler.
What About Refrigerant?
Since this is an actual refrigerator, yes, it uses refrigerant.
According to Milwaukee’s product information, the amount is very small, described as roughly the amount you would find in a can of hairspray.
More importantly, Milwaukee says the user will not need to recharge the compressor with refrigerant.
So this isn’t something you’re expected to regularly refill or service just to keep the fridge working.
Why Is Milwaukee Making a Jobsite Fridge?
The answer isn’t really about wanting to make a fancy cooler.
It’s about the amount of time and money that goes into keeping crews supplied with cold water.

Milwaukee’s internal research points to some very familiar problems with traditional jobsite coolers: broken hinges, mold when they’re not properly drained, additional trips to the gas station for ice, time spent pre-chilling coolers, and a lot of valuable interior space disappearing once the ice goes in.
For an individual tradesperson or smaller crew, that can mean annoying extra stops before the workday even begins.
Scale that up to a large commercial project and the problem gets much bigger.
According to Milwaukee’s product materials, some commercial jobs can spend more than $150,000 on ice per project, with some spending as much as $500,000.
Then there’s the time involved.
Foremen making early ice runs, people leaving the jobsite in the middle of the day, or workers taking long walks back to the trailer all add up.
Milwaukee’s idea with the M18 30QT Rolling Fridge is pretty straightforward: bring controlled cooling directly to where the crew is actually working.
No ice run required.
The Milwaukee M18 30QT Rolling Fridge is one of those products that sounds a little crazy until you actually think about how much time crews spend dealing with coolers.
Milwaukee isn’t just putting an M18 battery on a traditional cooler.
They’re giving you real fridge and freezer temperatures down to -4°F, up to 48-can capacity, three power options, long battery runtime, additional temperature retention, PACKOUT compatibility, all-terrain wheels, and a build designed specifically for rough jobsite conditions.
The biggest benefit might still be the simplest one.
You don’t need ice.
That means more room for drinks, fewer stops before and during the workday, less water to drain at the end of the day, and cold hydration right where the crew needs it.
The Milwaukee M18 30QT Rolling Fridge with PACKOUT Compatibility (0810-20) is currently listed with a $899 MAP price and is expected in 2027.
