Their initial release of their M18 FUEL Impact Wrench lineup in 2017 revolutionized the way we approach fastening applications, and now, they’re even better. These new releases build off the original models, but are now shorter and more powerful, making them easier to use in more compact spaces. There are also three exciting new features of these impact wrenches, the POWERSTATE brushless motor, REDLINK PLUS intelligence, and the REDLITHIUM battery pack that set them apart from other high impact wrenches.

What To Expect From This New Lineup

The all new impact wrenches from Milwaukee provide the perfect mix of power, balance, and speed to make your fastening tasks much more efficient. These powerful tools provide more torque and a compact design that fits in tight spaces where larger wrenches normally could not fit. Both the M18 FUEL Compact Impact Wrenches and the M18 FUEL Mid-Torque Impact Wrenches come equipped with the POWERSTATE brushless motor, REDLINK PLUS intelligence, and the M18 REDLITHIUM battery pack to deliver enough power to last through an entire days work.

The POWERSTATE motor provides the extra strength to remove stubborn fasteners and compete with larger high-impact models. The REDLINK PLUS intelligence ensures accurate and consistent performance with each use, protecting against overloads, overheating, and over-discharge. There are 4 drive control modes that deliver a range of pre-set RPM and IPM levels to accommodate for many different applications. Mode 4, when selected, has an auto shut-off feature that limits the amount of torque applied to no more than 20 ft-lbs. for hand-tightening applications to prevent over-tightening. Additionally, there are bolt removal controls in this mode that decrease RPM as the bolt loosens to stop the fastener from dropping. These innovative features, paired with the trusted M18 REDLITHIUM battery pack, will give you more work per charge and a longer lifespan of the battery pack.

M18 FUEL Compact Impact Wrenches

The three new models of compact impact wrenches are the M18 FUEL 3/8” Compact Impact Wrench w/ Friction Ring (2854-20), the M18 FUEL 3/8 Compact Impact Wrench w/ Friction Ring Kit (2854-22), and the M18 FUEL 3/8 Compact Impact Wrench w/ Friction Ring CP2.0 Kit (2854-22CT). All 3 models are equipped with a friction ring (hog ring) that allows for quick and easy socket changes, and more control over output speed and power. Now shortened to 4.8” in length, these tools can fit where no other compact wrench has gone before. Additionally, they have tri-LED lights to illuminate your workspace and drastically increase visibility with fewer shadows.  These small wrenches pack a mighty punch by delivering up to 250 ft-lbs. of torque and can work in environments up to 69 kV. These new third-generation models are sure to simplify user work experience and cut down work time drastically.

M18 FUEL Mid-Torque Impact Wrenches

The three new models of mid-torque impact wrenches include the M18 FUEL 3/8 Mid-Torque Impact Wrench w/ Friction Ring (2960-20), the M18 FUEL 3/8 Mid-Torque Impact Wrench w/ Friction Ring Kit (2960-22), and the M18 FUEL 3/8 Mid-Torque Impact Wrench w/ Friction Ring CP 2.0 Kit (2960-22CT). This newer model of the mid-torque impact wrench delivers 650 ft-lbs. of nut-busting torque and weighs only 5.1 lbs. It offers the best power-to-weight ratio in its class, and comes as the single tool, or in a kit with 2 different REDLITIUM battery options. This tool has enough power to remove even the most stubborn and inaccessible bolts or lug nuts. The small size and extreme power combination can complete 90% of fastening applications, limiting the need for larger and less accessible high-impact wrenches. These are the perfect middle ground between small impact wrenches and powerful high-torque impact wrenches that accommodate any and all of your fastening needs.
