The M18 REDLITHIUM FORGE XC6.0 Battery (48-11-1861) is the talk of the town, and for good reason. Milwaukee is making bold claims about this new addition to their battery lineup, and we’re here to dissect what makes it stand out:

Performance and PWR Levels:

While this battery is the REDLITIUM FORGE XC6.0, Milwaukee claims that this battery has the same performance as a High Output 12.0 battery. Allowing this tiny but mighty battery to truly pack a punch!

Milwaukee is now categorizing their battery platforms into power levels. Ranging from PWR1-PWR5. They state as this PWR level increases you can expect increased tool performance. With Milwaukee’s M18 REDLITHIUM XC5.0 (48-11-1850R) classified as a PWR2 battery, then the M18 REDLITHIUM High Output XC6.0 (48-11-1865) classified as a PWR3 battery. Where finally the M18 REDLITHIUM High Output HD12.0 (48-11-1812) and the M18 REDLITHIUM Forge XC6.0 (48-11-1861) classify as a PWR4 battery. It looks like we may see Milwaukee continue to provide these PWR4 batteries and even the new PWR5 batteries coming in the future to help increase our overall tool performance.

Compatibility:

With the new Forge Batteries compatibility with any of the M18 tool system, this allows for you to continue to use your existing M18 tools to be able to experience that boost in power on your various tasks and projects.

Design:

It’s lightweight and compact design helps provide the perfect contrast between power and portability. Weighing in at just 2.07 pounds and measuring 3.1 inches in height, 5.1 inches in length, and 3.3 inches in width. These batteries are built to last with their oil-resistant construction ensuring they can withstand tough working conditions, enhancing its durability.

While in contrast the rapid charger takes 62 minutes, and the standard charger clocks in at 115 minutes to fully charge the new Forge Batteries. This Super Charger is capable of simultaneously charging up to 2 batteries, while leveraging CHARGE ADAPT Adaptive Charge Distribution to distribute power between bays for maximized productivity. The CHARGE ADAPT LED light will illuminate for the battery that is able to receive the most amount of power, resulting in the user getting one pack back faster than fully simultaneous chargers.
