Attention all carpenters, remodellers, and general contractors: your search for the next great belt sander ends here! Milwaukee’s M18 FUEL 3” x 18” Belt Sander (2832-20) is designed for power, performance, and productivity while on the job, and the included dust collection bag ensures cleanup is a breeze, getting you out the door and on your way home that much quicker.
Milwaukee’s M18 FUEL battery platform provides improved power and torque over that of the competition, offering the equivalent of an 8A corded tool with the functionality and portability allowed by battery-powered tools. The POWERSTATE brushless motor technology allows for faster material removal at up to 1350 surface feet per minute (SFM), and ensures less bog down on tougher, denser materials while also protecting from overloading, overheating, and over discharging, giving you greater stability on the jobsite; it also features a variable speed dial, with speeds between 750 and 1350 SFM, for increased control on a plethora of materials.
The 3” x 18” Belt Sander includes a dust collection bag which attaches to the back of the tool, capturing more than 80% of dust and debris while you’re working, and also features a tool-free adjustable pommel on the rear of the tool, giving you greater access for sanding with the front of the machine as well as a smaller profile for storage purposes. Milwaukee recommends pairing it with a 6.0aH battery, but this writer has heard through the grapevine that the power demand might be a little too much for a 6.0, and you may have a better time with a larger capacity, say an 8.0 or 12.0aH. That’s not to say a 6.0 won’t do the trick if that’s all you’re running, you may just need to take a charging break if you’ve got a more intense workload.
Milwaukee has to, of course, include a ton of fun features on this belt sander as well, including dual forward-facing LED lights to help illuminate darker work spaces, automatic belt tracking to help keep the belt centered along with a tool-free tracking knob, a tool-free change lever for the belt, as well as a universal hose adapter to conform to a variety of vacuum hose sizes and a lock on button. Do keep in mind that this belt sander is only compatible with the 3” x 18” sanding sheets; any other size will not fit!
