Feast your eyes, everyone. No seriously, just take a second to look at that helmet right there. Matte black (just one of six available colors, more on that later), sleek polished eye shield (an optional accessory, more on that later, too); it all screams stability, without sacrificing an ounce of comfort. Plus, it looks like something Luke Skywalker would wear in the cockpit of his X-Wing, and who doesn’t want to look like Luke Skywalker in an X-Wing? This was not manufactured for the Rebellion, however, my friends; this was manufactured by PIP Safety for the good people in the industry. Not to say that we’d be the Empire though, we can totally still be the Rebels. Okay, sorry, enough with the Star Wars references; let’s get into the meat of this thing.

“Red Five to Red Leader: These helmets are sick!”

These new Traverse safety helmets include a four-point quick release, dual-position height adjusting suspension system, along with a double layer of woven nylon in the straps to ensure the most snug and secure fit possible, as well as an adjustable non-slip micro-metric wheel ratchet at the back to provide an effortless fit for a variety of head sizes.

The new Traverse helmets also include a number of universal accessory slots to accommodate eye, face, and hearing protection, as well as a number of other options. Two slots at the front of the helmet are provided for lighting sources, and various slots around the helmet are capable of carrying neck shades and sun brims for hot weather, storage bags for various pieces you may need quickly to hand without actually having the hands at the moment, or strapping on an eye shield with the optional eye shield protector for that complete X-Wing pilot look. Okay, now we’re done with the Star Wars references. Promise.

It wouldn’t be PIP without meeting a plethora of safety requirements, and the Traverse helmets are no exception. These helmets have ANSI Z89.1-2014 Type II and EN 12492 Shock Absorbing Capacity, Retention System Strength, and the effectiveness of the Retention System are all met, as well as electrical insulation class E for their non-vented option (280-HP1491RVM), and class C for their vented version (280-HP149RM).

Look at all those options!

These helmets are also made of an ultra-lightweight polycarbonate/ABS material rather than the traditional polyethylene found in most hard hats. This means less weight bearing down on your head with an even greater level of protection than ever before thanks in part to the included Multi-directional Impact Protection System (MIPS). For those unfamiliar with the term, MIPS is designed to help absorb rotational motion transferred to the head during angled impacts, helping you avoid concussions or other severe brain injuries on the jobsite. Trust, friends; you want a safety helmet with a MIPS system.

PIP’s new Traverse safety helmets will be available in the gorgeous matte black, a dazzling white, a passionate red, a tropical orange, a classic yellow, and a hi-vis green, in both vented and non-vented options. Trust your feelings; pre-order yours today and let the Force be your guide! (Sorry, couldn’t resist!)
