You’d be forgiven for thinking this was a new light cycle design from an upcoming TRON movie (it was this writer’s first thought, too; alas, we’re still TRON-less), but this, ladies and gentlemen, is RIDGID’s brand new 760 FXP Power Drive–their first ever battery-powered pipe threader!

Can’t you just picture Tron or Sam Flynn on the back of this thing?

Available in both 11-R and 12-R compatibility, these new Power Drives are absolute tanks. Get up to 30 threads on 2” pipe with a single charge of the 4.0Ah FXP battery with that same RIDGID power and precision we all know and love, and do so faster than the competition with the incredible speed that RIDGID has put into this machine. They also come equipped with a torque reaction shutoff, automatically powering the tool down the second it detects any kickback. Forward LEDs help illuminate your workspace like never before, increasing both visibility and efficiency, and additional LEDs on the tool itself indicate when you’re nearing the end of each thread.

The new pipe threader in action; look at it go!

Don’t think this writer didn’t see your eyebrows do that thing when you read about the battery up there; yes, it’s an FXP battery as opposed to the traditional RIDGID battery line, but listen to these specs for a minute: your choice of 4Ah or 8Ah, charging times of 40 or 80 minutes respectively (within an hour, people!), with a gauge on the handle to indicate battery levels, and each of them are less than ten pounds. What?! You could throw one of these on the charger and throw a load of laundry in, and they’d be done charging just as you’re flipping everything over to the dryer. You’re also capable of connecting this to the RIDGID Link app, which provides information on tool usage, performance, and maintenance needs at a quick glance.

RIDGID of course knows that everyone loves kits, and these new 760 FXP Power Drives will be available in both bare tools, kits with batteries and a charger, and kits with batteries, charger, and a set of either 11-R or 12-R die heads.
