We’ve all been there before–you go to pick up a screw or other fastener to attach to the end of your drill so you can get your project fastened together and finished up for the day, and the damn thing slips right off the tip of the drill, or from between your fingers, or falls off just before you’re able to get it lined up properly on the hash mark you made in the wood. It’s frustrating, and like many frustrating things in our lives, someone with an engineering degree of some kind had the genius idea to make that trivial task significantly less frustrating, and to the delight of Team Red fans everywhere, these genius ideas come to us from our friends over at Milwaukee, with all new additions to their Screwdriving and Impact Socket Accessories!
Screwdriving Additions
Two brand new additions to Milwaukee’s Screwdriving family of accessories come to us in the form of a SHOCKWAVE Impact Duty Magnetic Attachment 3-Piece Bit Set (48-32-4550) and a 4-Piece Screw Extractor Set (49-57-9001). The Magnetic Attachment 3-piece Bit Set provides enhanced magnetization for driver bits to deliver an increased level of control and screw retention while fastening projects on the job. The set includes (1) Magnetizer and (2) 2″ Phillips Head #2 bits, which feature Milwaukee’s WEAR GUARD TIP™ protection for added wear resistance and longevity, an optimized SHOCK ZONE™ to absorb peak torque and prevent breaking, and are engineered with CUSTOM ALLOY76™ Steel to extend the bit life. This all new set is due to ship out from Milwaukee mid-June 2023.
Along with the Magnetic Driving Set, the new 4-Piece Screw Extractor Set (49-57-9001) is designed with removal in mind! The double-ended bit design allows for fast and simple removal of stripped screws or rounded bolts. Designed for use in drill drivers in reverse, Side A allows for drilling in high speed, while Side B extracts in low speed. This allows for a complete drilling solution all wrapped up into one bit!
The Screw Extractor Set is made of M2 steel for maximum durability and enhanced longevity, ensuring a firm connection with the hardened screws and bolts. The set includes (4) sizes: #1, #2, #3, and #4 for common extractions, and can extract No.4 – No. 24 screws as well as No. 10, ¼”, 5/16”, and 3/8” bolts. You can keep an eye out for this set arriving in our store this July!
Socket Additions
Milwaukee didn’t stop at screwdriving additions, though. They also announced 3 all-new Impact Socket Sets, in ½” Drive 9-Piece Metric (49-66-7032), ⅜” Drive 6-Piece Metric (49-66-7036), and ⅜” Drive 6-Piece SAE (49-66-7035) sizes that will be releasing this Fall. The new sets feature the longest lasting etched markings found on the market, and extreme durability in high torque applications. The stamped and ink-filled markings are easily identified across the life of the sockets, ensuring quick and accurate changes every time. Each set features a 6-point design made with high-strength forged impact steel to deliver enough power to get you through your workday with ease. Meanwhile, the dual hole design and grooves allow for easy attachment, and the non-slip hex geometry prevents socket and fastener rounding for added efficiency on the job. The 9-Piece 1/2″ Metric set is deep well, while the 6-Piece sets are both Standard, and you will be able to get your hands on them this September!
