The Dax line is composed of full brim or cap styles, carbon or FRP materials and Class C and Class G safety ratings. Each Dax hard hat shell is hand laid, giving it a unique, one of a kind appearance. All Dax hats include top-of-the-line features to assure comfort and safety for everyday wear.

  • Internal Support: Six-point suspension system to provide superior impact absorption
  • Retention System: LUX Suspension System provides ultimate retention. The ratcheting fitment dial allows for rapid head size adjustment and is easy to grip and manipulate with gloves on. The ratcheting system lies on the occipital lobe, providing stability and comfort.
  • Padding: Perforated Clarino synthetic leather comfort dome with molded EVA foam insert for additional shock absorbing protection to the top of the head
  • Brim Grip: A staple feature designed to provide ease of use and enhanced grip
  • Brow Pad: Synthetic leather is durable and provides better sweat absorption than standard brow pads
  • Lining: Moisture-wicking foam backed microfiber liner reduces sweat build-up

Dax Carbon Hard Hats

Made from carbon fiber with a triple reinforced crown for superior impact protection, the Dax Carbon hard hats are lightweight option and able to withstand heavier impacts. These hats meet ANSI Type 1, Class C safety standards, meaning that they are certified to reduce the impact of a blow only to the top of the head and they are Conductive hard hats–not intended to provide protection against contact with electrical conductors. LIFT Dax Carbon Hats are available in both full brim or cap styles, as well as in matte and gloss finishes or hi-viz colors for added safety and visibility on the jobsite.

Dax FRP Hard Hats

Made from a fiber reinforced resin to withstand impacts, Dax FRP hats differ from their full-carbon alternatives by offering a Class G ANSI safety standard. The change in material means that these hard hats are designed to reduce exposure to low voltage conductors and they offer dielectric protection up to 2,200 volts (phase to ground). Formerly categorized as “Class A,” the Class G hard hat is the most common hard hat style. Like the Carbon options, Dax FRP hard hats are available in both full brim or cap styles and natural or hi-viz colors.

Dax Hard Hat Lifespan

Hard hat lifespan varies depending on the conditions of the jobsite. Hard hats subjected to more wear and tear or used outdoors in direct sunlight may need to be replaced more frequently. The best way to determine when to replace a hard hat shell, suspension, or the unit in its entirety is to conduct daily inspections. Suggested replacement is based on service life–when the hard hat was placed into service, not the manufacture date. In general, it’s recommended to replace hard hats every five years, regardless of outside appearance.

Competition

If you aren’t quite ready to spend over $100 on a hard hat for the true advantages of Carbon Fiber, Ohio Power Tool carries a full range of Hard Hat options with some less expensive alternatives out there. If you Like Carbon Fiber Look without the price tag, Pyramex hard hats are made out of ABS material for lightweight, strong protection but offer several “graphite patterns” which have been very popular as well as matte, camo and other hi-viz options.
